Designed for the real moments that matter — not just quiet controlled environments.
A catch-up call with parents in Ankara or a relative in Izmir. Family conversations carry fast casual Turkish with regional accents and family shorthand. Captio AI captions everything said, at full speed.
A team call in Turkish from an Istanbul office or an online meeting with Turkish colleagues. Business Turkish with English technical terms. Captio AI keeps pace with both.
A callback from an SGK-registered clinic or a prescription query at the eczane in Turkish. Medical calls use formal vocabulary at speed. Captio AI shows the full message in text.
A Ziraat Bankası automated IVR menu or a Garanti customer service call in Turkish. Automated menus give you one chance. Captio AI captions each option before the timeout.
A call from the Turkish diaspora in Germany, the Netherlands, or Austria. Diaspora Turkish carries German or Dutch influence on vocabulary and rhythm. Captio AI handles it.
A WhatsApp video call with family in Bursa or a Zoom meeting with a Turkish team. All video call apps work the same way — put the call on speaker, open Captio AI, read the captions.

Built for the calls you have been avoiding
Captions as they speak
Words appear on screen word by word while the other person is still talking. You read what they say at the same pace everyone else hears it — no delay, no reconstruction.
Works on any call app
Captio AI does not need to integrate with any platform. Put the call on speaker, point the microphone toward the audio, and read the captions. It works the same way for any app on any device.
No more asking for repeats
Every word is on screen as it is said. If you missed something, glance at the caption rather than interrupting the call — the full sentence is there.
Handles call audio accurately
Compressed phone audio is less clean than in-person speech. Captio AI is built for real-world audio conditions, including the reduced quality of standard phone and VoIP calls.
Any language
For calls with family abroad, international colleagues, or foreign-language customer service. Live Translator captions and translates in real time with no manual setup.
Record and review after
Record any call and upload it to Audio Transcription. Get a full written record of everything said — useful for medical instructions, work decisions, and anything worth having in writing.
Why Turkish is hard to understand
Agglutinative suffix clusters
- Turkish meaning is stacked in invisible word-endings
- Turkish grammar builds meaning by stacking suffixes: evlerinizden (from your houses) is a single word with four suffixes. In fast spoken Turkish, suffix chains blend together at the end of the word — the region where lip visibility is already degraded on a phone call. A deaf caller can pick up the stem but multiple layers of grammatical meaning vanish in the suffix cascade.
Back unrounded vowel
- The vowel ı (undotted i) has no visible lip difference
- Turkish distinguishes the front unrounded /i/ (dotted i) from the back unrounded /ı/ (undotted ı) — two vowels that produce identical lip and jaw positions. On lips alone, these two sounds are indistinguishable. This contrast appears throughout common Turkish vocabulary and affects grammatical agreement through vowel harmony.
Soft G invisibility
- The silent consonant ğ creates unpredictable gaps
- Turkish soft G (ğ) is typically silent or realized as vowel lengthening with no consonant burst at all. On a phone call, yağ (oil), ya (just), and ya (either/or) can sound identical and look identical. A deaf caller tracking the written or phonological form of a word may expect a consonant where the speaker produces none.
Back consonant articulation
- Velars and uvulars are made deep in the throat
- Turkish velar /k/ and /g/ and the uvular /ğ/ are produced in the back of the mouth or throat with no visible lip involvement. In fast speech, the interaction between these consonants and surrounding vowels — central to Turkish vowel harmony — is articulated entirely out of view.
Eastern vs. Istanbul accent gap
- Regional Turkish accents differ sharply in vowel quality
- Eastern Anatolian Turkish (Erzurum, Diyarbakır, Trabzon) has different vowel qualities, more emphatic consonants, and a slower prosodic pattern than Istanbul or Izmir Turkish. A deaf caller familiar with standard Istanbul speech faces significant mismatch on calls from eastern relatives — the phonological landscape shifts substantially.

Turkey has a population of approximately 85 million, and applying WHO's estimate that disabling hearing loss affects around 4.4% of the global population suggests roughly 3.7 million Turkish people live with significant hearing impairment. The GBD 2019 study identified hearing loss as the leading cause of years lived with disability globally — Turkey, like every high-population country, carries a proportionate share of this burden.
Turkey recognised Turkish Sign Language (Türk İşaret Dili, TİD) as the legal communication language of deaf citizens under the 2005 Disability Law, with reaffirmation in later disability policy revisions. Despite this recognition, TİD interpretation remains concentrated in major cities. There is no real-time caption telephone service available through Turkcell, Vodafone Turkey, or Türk Telekom that works on WhatsApp, Zoom, or standard VoIP platforms. A deaf person in Trabzon or Konya who receives a bank callback or clinic appointment call has no accessible real-time option on their smartphone.
Captio AI lets a deaf person in Trabzon follow a Ziraat Bankası callback, read a Turkcell customer service call, or join a WhatsApp video call with family in Germany — in Turkish, in real time, without a city-based interpreter or relay number.
