In Spain, approximately one million people are classified as deaf or hearing-disabled, and CNSE (the Spanish National Confederation of the Deaf) has consistently documented that deaf Spaniards face employment rates significantly below the national average, with those who are employed concentrated in lower-skilled and lower-paid roles.
