Use Cases

Every situation covered

Designed for the real moments that matter — not just quiet controlled environments.

🎤Keynotes and main stage talks

From a far seat in a keynote hall at Incheba Expo in Bratislava, the speaker is distant and the hall is loud. Point Captio AI toward the nearest PA speaker and read every word of the Slovak keynote from any seat.

🔬Academic and research conferences

At an academic conference — a research congress at a Bratislava university or a scientific meeting in Košice — presenters speak fast and stack consonant-heavy terminology. Captio AI captions in real time and transcribes for later review.

💼Industry and professional events

Industry events, automotive and technology summits, and product launches in Bratislava carry content that affects your work. Captio AI captions every speaker so you follow the panel.

📋Workshops and breakout sessions

In a workshop or breakout, several voices contribute in Slovak from around the table. Place Captio AI on the table and follow every contribution, including from the back of the room.

🤝Networking and informal sessions

The most useful conversations often happen over coffee breaks and at the conference dinner. Captio AI works in these noisy, informal settings the same way it does in the main hall.

🌍International and multilingual events

At an international conference in Slovakia, sessions switch between Slovak and English. Live Translator captions foreign-language talks in real time so you follow the full programme.

Why Captio AI

Built for the room where you cannot ask anyone to repeat

Live captions from any seat

Point the phone toward the nearest PA output or speaker. Captio AI captions whoever is presenting in real time — from the front row or the back of a large conference hall.

Works without venue infrastructure

No hearing loop, no captioning service, no advance booking required. Captio AI works independently via microphone — whether or not the venue has provided any accessibility infrastructure.

Covers what official captioning does not

Official captioning, where it exists, typically covers the main stage only. Q&A sessions, workshops, breakouts, and networking are usually left uncaptioned. Captio AI covers all of it.

Record and review after

Record any session and upload it to Audio Transcription for a full written record. Use AI Summary to extract key takeaways — useful for dense technical content you want to process at your own pace.

60+ languages

For international conferences, foreign-language keynotes, or multilingual panels. Live Translator captions and translates in real time across 60+ languages with no manual switching between speakers.

Works for networking too

The conversations in hallways and at lunch matter as much as the sessions. Captio AI works in any setting — informal, noisy, unstructured — the same way it works in the main hall.

Slovak

Why Slovak is hard to understand

Consonant clusters

  • Words that pile up consonants, some with no vowel
  • Slovak allows up to four consonants in a row and has a syllabic r and l — words like 'prst' or 'štvrť' built around consonants with no vowel. From a distant stage these clusters give a lip-reader almost no visual seams, so a deaf attendee cannot break a technical term into readable pieces.

Vowel length

  • Long and short vowels that change the word
  • Slovak vowel length is phonemic — a long vowel makes a different word from a short one. This is a timing distinction, not a lip shape, so at podium pace a deaf attendee cannot see which of two terms was said in a keynote.

Soft and retroflex consonants

  • Palatal ľ, ň, ď, ť and retroflex č, š, ž
  • Slovak contrasts palatal soft consonants — ľ, ň, ď, ť — and has retroflex č, š, ž, distinctions carried by tongue position with barely any visible cue. A deaf attendee sees the same mouth for consonants that make different words.

Regional dialects

  • Western, central, and eastern Slovak differ
  • A Slovak conference draws speakers of western, central, and eastern Slovak, which differ in vowels, rhythm, and some consonants. A deaf attendee calibrated to the central standard meets shifting speech from a speaker from another region.

Slovak–English code-switching

  • Technical English inside Slovak sentences
  • Slovak technology and academic speech, especially in Bratislava, drops English terms into Slovak sentences constantly. A deaf attendee lip-reading Slovak meets English phonology on the key vocabulary, then returns to Slovak, with no visual signal of the switch.

The Challenge

Hearing loss and professional access in Slovakia

Against a European backdrop in which around one in five people has some hearing loss, Slovakia carries a substantial burden across its population, with genetic studies documenting distinctive hereditary hearing-loss patterns in some communities. Comprehensive national prevalence data is thin, and audiological support and real-time access services remain limited relative to need, leaving many deaf and hard of hearing Slovaks under-supported as they reach professional life.

Bratislava and Košice host a growing conference and events sector — the academic congresses of their universities, the automotive and technology summits at venues like Incheba Expo. These run on spoken Slovak delivered over PA systems, with English woven into technical sessions. Real-time Slovak captioning of keynotes, panels, and Q&A is rarely provided, and where any accessibility exists it does not reach the breakouts and networking where professional value is built.

Captio AI closes that gap. Point the phone toward the PA and read every Slovak keynote and panel answer from any seat, record a dense session for the full transcript, and follow the conversations over a coffee break — so a deaf professional in Bratislava or Košice gets the same value from the same conference as everyone in the hall.

Privacy

What you hear stays with you.

Gone the moment it ends

Captio AI processes your audio in real time and discards it immediately. Nothing is recorded. Nothing is kept.

Not a product

Your conversations are not something Captio AI sells, shares, or monetizes — to anyone, for any reason.

Not used to train anything

What you say in a doctor's appointment or a job interview never ends up in a training dataset. Not ours. Not anyone else's.

"Bratislava tech talks drop English terms into Slovak on every point, delivered fast from a far stage. I caught fragments. Captio AI captioned both from my seat. I read the whole session and knew exactly what the launch meant for my team."

"Slovak piles up consonants with no vowels for me to read, and the soft consonants are invisible. Captio AI captioned the keynote from my seat and I recorded it. I followed a full congress talk for the first time."

"Eastern and central Slovak speakers sound different on the lips, and the long-short vowel pairs give me nothing. Captio AI captioned every audience question. As a panellist I answered what was actually asked instead of guessing."

"Networking over coffee is where the useful conversations happen, and it used to be the part I stepped back from. Captio AI captioned the informal chats at the reception so I could take part. That is where I met my first investor."
