Most Chinese conversations happen fast, at normal pace, without warning. Captio AI captions every word as it's spoken, so you can follow without asking anyone to repeat themselves.
🤟Communicating with Deaf & HoHHearing people often don't know how to adapt when talking with deaf or hard of hearing Chinese speakers. Captio AI turns their speech into real-time captions, so the conversation can happen naturally on both sides.
💼MeetingsIn Chinese meetings, decisions happen fast and people talk over each other. Captio AI captions every speaker as they talk, so you never miss a decision or a question directed at you.
🎓LecturesChinese lecturers speak quickly, cover complex material, and rarely repeat themselves. Captio AI gives you a live transcript of everything said, so you can follow the content instead of straining to hear it.
🏥Doctor AppointmentsDoctors speak quickly in Chinese and use clinical language that's easy to mishear. Captio AI shows you everything they say in real time, so you can follow your diagnosis and ask the right questions.
🤝Job InterviewsMissing a question in a Chinese interview means answering wrong or asking for a repeat. Captio AI shows you every word the interviewer says, so you can focus entirely on your answer.
📱Phone & Video CallsChinese phone and video calls are harder to follow than in-person conversations. No lip reading, often poor audio quality. Captio AI captions whoever is speaking in real time, so you do not need to ask for repeats.
👥Group SettingsIn Chinese group conversations, multiple people talk at once and the thread moves fast. Captio AI keeps up with whoever is speaking, so you can follow without losing where the conversation is going.
🍽️Restaurants & CafesBackground noise in Chinese-speaking restaurants and cafes makes speech hard to follow. Captio AI focuses on whoever is speaking to you, so you can have a real conversation through the noise.
✈️TravelingIn Chinese-speaking cities, airports, and hotels there is no margin for mishearing. Captio AI captions speech in real time, so you can navigate confidently wherever you go.
🎤Conferences & EventsAt Chinese conferences, speakers are far away, acoustics are unpredictable, and you cannot ask for a repeat. Captio AI gives you a live transcript of every speaker, so you can follow the full event from any seat.
📺TV & MediaBuilt-in subtitles on Chinese TV, films, and videos are often wrong, delayed, or missing. Captio AI captions whatever is playing in real time, so you are not dependent on what the content provides.

Supports Mandarin (Simplified and Traditional characters) and Cantonese.
Mandarin dialect
The most widely spoken Chinese variety — official language of mainland China, Taiwan, and Singapore. Captio AI handles Mandarin with full accuracy, displaying captions in Simplified characters (mainland) or Traditional (Taiwan).
Cantonese dialect
Spoken in Hong Kong, Guangdong province, Macau, and overseas Chinese communities worldwide. A distinct variety with its own tonal system and vocabulary. Captio AI supports Cantonese with Traditional Chinese characters.
Wu dialect
Spoken in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and southern Jiangsu — around 80 million speakers. Shanghainese is the prestige Wu variety. Wu has a complex tonal system and is not mutually intelligible with Mandarin. Captio AI handles Wu in its educated spoken form.
Min / Hokkien dialect
Spoken in Fujian province, Taiwan, and across Southeast Asian Chinese communities. One of the most linguistically diverse Chinese dialect groups, preserving features of Middle Chinese. Captio AI handles Min as spoken in conversational contexts.
Hakka dialect
Spoken by Hakka communities in Guangdong, Jiangxi, Taiwan, and globally across the Chinese diaspora. Historically associated with migratory communities. Captio AI handles Hakka in its standard conversational form.
Captio AI supports 60+ languages

Gone the moment it ends
Captio AI processes your Chinese audio in real time and discards it immediately. Nothing is recorded. Nothing is kept.
Not a product
Your conversations are not something Captio AI sells, shares, or monetizes — to anyone, for any reason.
Not used to train anything
What you say in a Chinese doctor's appointment or job interview never ends up in a training dataset. Not ours. Not anyone else's.
Hearing accessibility for Chinese speakers
Chinese is spoken across mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, and each of those places has its own distinct sign language. Deaf people in China use Chinese Sign Language (CSL). Taiwan's deaf community uses Taiwan Sign Language (TSL), which was officially recognized as a national language in 2019. Hong Kong has Hong Kong Sign Language (HKSL), and Singapore uses Singapore Sign Language (SgSL).
One detail that surprises most people: TSL developed under Japanese influence during Taiwan's colonial period, so it has more in common with Japanese Sign Language than with CSL. A deaf person from Shanghai and a deaf person from Taipei use entirely different sign languages and cannot sign to each other.
For hard of hearing people in China, accessibility infrastructure is still developing. The country has around 1,200 audiologists nationwide, most of them in major cities. Sign language interpretation in hospitals is rare. A hard of hearing person at a medical appointment is often expected to manage independently. That is one of the most common situations where Captio AI gets used: a fast-moving consultation in Mandarin where missing a word means missing a diagnosis.
